Milwaukee County residents can safely dispose of household chemicals at the one-day collection at Augustine Prep (formerly Cardinal Stritch University - 6801 N Yates Rd, Fox Point, WI 53217) on Saturday, May 4, from 8 am to 2 pm.
You’ve selected your rain garden location, purchased your plants, and now you are ready to start planting. Gardening Expert Melinda Myers will take a step-by-step approach to make this process as easy as possible. We’ll discuss fine-tuning the garden design, preparing the planting bed, and setting the plants in place for an attractive display. Melinda will cover the care your new plants need during their first summer, ensuring they establish a deep, drought-tolerant root system that will serve them well in the seasons ahead.
Join us on Saturday, May 18, from 10 AM – 1 PM for a FREE tour of the Jones Island Water Reclamation Facility on Lake Michigan's shores. Learn how we clean wastewater, make Milorganite® fertilizer, and how you can help protect our water and manage water on your property. Registration is required, and spots are limited.
Since 1994, MMSD has captured and cleaned 98.6% of all the water that has entered the regional sewer system.
